I just found this forum, and just registered. It looks good. I model Santa Fe in the 40's & 50's in a modular club. I'm also thinking of doing some Arkansas & Missouri for three reasons. 1) I would like to do some modern models, but I don't like unit trains, double stacks, etc. 2) I like Alcos. 3) I think modeling the Ozarks might also be interresting.

Actually, I didn't have time to mention my new layout. My oldest daughter got married five years ago and my wife has allowed me to have "bookshelf space" for a layout. I bought the Ikea Ivar unfinished pine modular book shelves, and have a 9' x 7' "L" shaped benchwork for a switching layout at a 48" height. The layout options I mentioned in the post at the top of this thread are ideas for modules.
