Hello all,

I have an outdoor layout. As you all know dirt is in 1:1 scale.
Any advice for what type of track cleaner would work best? How often do you run those over the rails anyway?

Thanks

MP

Centerline Products makes a track cleaning car for G-Scale. It reviewed well in Garden Railways.

However since my large scale endeavors are in Live Steam and On Board Battery Power, the cleanest my track needs to be is just free of debris.

I am just curious as to what you guys do when the lawn needs to be cut? I unfourtunatley am limited to indoor modeling, and I always wondered how this problem is delt with.

Hi FEF-3

The answer to your question is quite simple. After the grass is cut, hope your ballasting job is good and rince the track off with a garden hose.

I model in 1/24s scale Gauge III live steam. And onboard battery for my couple diesles So all i need is the track clear of debris for reliable operation.

My layout is in a brick planter with trees and small plants, separate from the yard, so the grass cutting is not an issue.
