I ve just bought a Proto Power West motor for a athearn dash-9 and the motors not getting power can anyone tell me how to get my locomotive moving?

How did you hook it up? The Athear motor is designed to pick up power from one clip against the frame, and the other clip on the top coming from the side of the truck that isn't contacting the frame electrically. The Protopower West motor won't pick up power from either of Athearn's stock pick up methods. You need to hard wire the motor from one side of the two trucks to one terminal on the motor, and from the other side of the two trucks to the other terminal on the motor. http://members.aol.com/JFuhrtrain/
