According to the SPV atlas of California, both SP and PE had dead-end spurs operating into Whittier, with both lines ending at what is now "Whittier Marketplace". The stations would have been close to the UP station.

Remnants of these lines existed at least until the 80s, with the last customer the hospital in Whittier. When did this line stop operating? Some of the old PE segment now has houses built on it...

The SP abandoned its Whittier branch from Studebaker to Whittier around WWII and turned part of the line over to the PE. The SP reclaimed the rightof way between Los Nietos and Studebaker when the Puente cut-off was built in the 1950s.
