Noticed this story about a woman whose stroller was sucked under a train, fortunately with no injuries.

Question is, just how close was this stroller to the tracks in order to get sucked under? She alleges that she was behind the yellow safety line (note: *she*, no mention of the stroller) which should be safe enough. How fast do the UPs go past? Even here in the UK high speed trains pass at 125mph with a safety line just a couple of feet from the platform edge - and I've never heard of this type of thing even at that speed.

Any comments?

I couldn't tell what the stroller looked like, but I can see how one of those with the fabric, sling-type seat could have this happen: the seat back could be at just the right angle for it to serve as an airfoil and, with the low resistance of wheels pointed just the right way, be moved towards the train. As in sailing, the moving wind can cause lift in a wide range of angles, not just blowing in the wind direction.

Just a hunch, but I can foresee a whole bunch more laws on the way.

That lady is full of it, I find it HARD to believe her stroller, that itself is a pretty heavy one(i know strollers I have to fold em up to go under my bus all the time), this is one of those 3 wheeled jogger types; she was TOO CLOSE...I've been at the yellow line, on the safe side, and there is not sucking feeling that close, air is being blown out towards the platform. At least that's how I percieve it. If it would have been sucked, it would have been sucked at the back where there's a vacuum like our buses have.

I could pick at her and her 6 yr old still in a stroller but I'm not gonna.
