Hi All,
NOw that the CZ is running again, I'm taking it to Omaha [Smile] Now, I'd like to know if anyone can tell me the on-time performance of the Cardinal, which I'll pick up in Indianapolis to get to Chicago. Does it usually make it on time? Thanks!

The Cardinal's performance is all over the board. I've arrived into Chicago on this train anywhere from 45 minutes early (due to padding) to three hours late.

With the current timetable the train does have some dwell time in Indianapolis.....due in at 4:44am and not departing until 6:30am. That increases the chance of getting out of Indy on-time......has no impact on likely freight congestion entering Chicago.

In May the Cardinal's performance was about 54 percent on time, according to Amtrak at this site:
