I learned of this Albany Times Union staff reported article at another site:

Read what one wishes into the emphasis on "mobility'; somehow I doubt if it means a brighter day for the Long Distance product.

I agree, however, it sounds to me like the same inside the box thinking Amtrak has suffered from since A-day. The more things change, the more things stay the same. Hopefully, I'm wrong, and this guy is just feeling things out right now but turns out to be an outside the box thinker. Somehow, I don't believe he will have the opportunity to do much outside the box thinking before he's replaced.
