The Galveston Railroad Museum, with the cooperation of BNSF, is planning a special train from Galveston to Brenham and return on Sunday, October 2, 2016 as a part of "Railroad Days" at the museum. Previous trips were "invitation only" but this time the trip is intended as a fundraiser and you can simply purchase a ticket for $250 cash. Tickets go on sale August 24th...first come, first served. I was there along with my dad.
I took the Texas Chief many times from Houston to McGregor. My grandfather would then race the Chief to where it crossed his property just south of Clifton.
