His is a new coalition, couch-bound and spooked, finding small comforts where few had sought sustenance before: in the tender embrace of a disaster briefing by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.
Fans share text messages about the accent — the Queens English, brusque but empathetic — and the cable-news group therapy of his slide show presentations, their pick-me-ups rendered with the force of executive orders. (“Find Ways To: Create Some JOY,” one caption instructed on Sunday.)
They daydream about Mr. Cuomo’s job prospects — Might he join a Biden administration? Might there be a Cuomo administration, somehow? — and indulge in mischievous embroidery..
I doubt if Trump could characterize Gov. Cuomo as "Sleepy Andy"

Cuomo would be a formidable candidate if he gets in, but does he actually want it? We'll have to find out his positions on issues important to the Democratic voters especially Bernie Sanders supporters. And who would his VP be? It's already been pretty much decided a woman will be chosen for that position. One thing's certain; Cuomo would bring the fight to Trump like no one else.

Mr. Nicholson, I really hope this commitment for an (Andy?)/Joe - Girl ticket doesn't cost the Dems the election.
Flipping OH and PA, along with holding everything else Hillary took, will put the Dems in the WH. This would mean Sen. Sherrod Brown should be it. But two problems: last time I checked Sherrod is of the Male gender, and secondly Republican Gov DeWine will appoint a Republican to fill the vacant seat.
Michigan Dem. Gov Gretchen Whitmer fills the bill as an attractive face and a Dem. Lt. Gov will succeed her. But flipping MI (and PA) will leave the Dems two votes short.

Democrats want to drop Joe Biden for Andrew Cuomo, poll finds
A majority of Democrats want to nominate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for president instead of Joe Biden, according to poll results shared exclusively with The Post.
The national poll found 56 percent of Democrats prefer Cuomo, with 44 percent wanting to stick with presumptive nominee Biden — a 12-point margin well outside the 4.8 percent margin of error for the Democratic sample.
While the credibility of this polling concern, which primarily does work for Republican candidates, is of question, it shows there must be some measurement of foundation within "pockets" of the Democratic party for such a movement.
addendum: here is a video, while at "first blush" appeared to be a "scam" masquerading as from a legitimate source, is apparently "legit" from CNN.

Here is a strong Opinion piece appearing in The Wall Street Journal urging to have Andy on the ticket as VP.

The Democrats’ overriding imperative is to oust Donald Trump. Their other ambitions—putting a woman on the ticket, the Green New Deal, Medicare for All—should be put on hold. They are irrelevant to the purpose at hand.
The Democrats’ job isn’t to persuade the already-persuaded but to attract and reassure the unwoke—the millions of independents, conservative Democrats and discomfited Republicans who urgently seek a decent, plausible alternative to Mr. Trump. This election will be decided by the plague-on-both-their-houses center, by voters who now feel homeless.
No question whatsoever; he'd be a STRONG VP.
Now how could the Girls, being promised a VP spot, be placated? Could some independent "on the fence" women voters - intrigued with the idea of a "Girl next in line", and considering Joe's age and possibly declining cognitive health, no longer "be in line", might decide "let's stick with the devil we know".
Sure, it's one thing if those voters are in the likes of, say, California, Illinois, or New York. But what if those voters are in Ohio or Pennsylvania - two states if flipped, and holding everything else Hillary took in'16, would give it to the Dems.

I wouldn't put too much fait I in Ohio or Wisconsin. Having been under Republican rule for several years, they have purged so many Democrats from the voting lists that the election of any Democrat is problematic. But there are hopeful signs. The election that the Republicans pushed through last week resulted in a Democratic victory despite Republican efforts to hold down the vote. People risked their well being to exercise their right to vote.

With "Hungary by the Lake" applying equally to OH and WI, this is why I think Joe need reach for Sherrod Brown as his VP.
The Dems have to get this "Girl stuff" off the table - quicker the better. Find one who can carry a swing state AND the Election, and talk to her. I mentioned Gretchen earlier, but MI is 18 votes, and OH is 20. Again, hold everything Hillary took in '16, get PA and OH, and Joe will have his hand on the Bible come January.
But as this Analysis piece in The Times today suggests, defeating Trump is hardly the "slam dunk" that all too many think it should be.

Of course it is dangerous to underestimate an opponent, as 2016 showed. But I think Democrats need one more state to make 270. As you said in a previous post, MI &OH would leave Joe two votes short. So how about Arizona? This solid red state could go purple this year; I think Bill Clinton carried it once. And people there are not pleased with their R are not pleased with incumbent Republicans Senator Martha McSally.

When Andy "destructed" last August, I was overseas in Salzburg. I was watching the English language Deutsche Welle station, which is a German news channel.
They cut away to CNN (USA), for Andy's abdication, which occurred at about 8P CET.
