Due to a recent downsize with my employer, I have decided to attend a NS hiring session for Conductor Trainees. At the ripe age of 40, am I too old to be considered? I wanted to do this 20 years ago but never acted on it. Does the railroad industry and employees have any more respect for a guy in his 40's as opposed to his 20's?

What can I expect with all of the training? Who pays for my training? Once employed, is it easy to move around to other cities within the NS system? Any information that anyone has will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Pennsy6500@rrmail.com ~OR~ Pennsy6500@netscape.net

NS pays for the training. They normally like you to get qualified for one area.
