US West

Superb map showing railway lines extant and extinct, based on Google Maps. You can click on lines to show their name. A work in progress as it clearly states, and even I can find lines missing in the LA area (the main tracks out of Union Station for one!). But if it's as good as the UK one then it'll be an excellent resource eventually.

This is a nice map for railroad information. Thank you for sharing it.

Interesting, however I do not understand their color coding at all. I see abandoned lines, so I guess it is their intention to show them.

I don't think the color coding means anything at all: maybe it's just to differentiate between different lines/segments. Hopefully it'll get better over time.

Openrailwaymap dot org is a very good google based railway map for North America and Europe and other places. This shows current and past railroad lines in many places.
