The FEBT Rockhill Work crew is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the historic shops complex and other facilities in the East Broad Top's Rockhill Furnace yard.

If you are interested in the future of the EBT, join us and help us preserve this national treasure. The more volunteers we have the more restoration work can be done. We can use any volunteers who can come, no matter your skill level.

The next Rockhill work session will take place Saturday, Sunday and Monday, August 30-31 and September 1. We will work from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Monday.

PROJECTS WE WILL WORK ON (priority order)
1. Complete work on our emergency project, the track repairs from the EBT main into the RTY car barn, so that the M-1 can be moved into the building for needed work on its engine-generator coupling.
2. Paint the north wall of the car shop.
3. Survey the extent of the decay and prepare a materials list for the roof work in the car shop "canyon" area.
4. Continue tie replacements on Track 3 and spike ties as they are placed. (Spike crews will need to wear safety glasses while working on spiking. We have a limited supply, but you are encouraged to bring your own.)
5. Prepare and cut glass for standard shop window sizes.
6. After painting is complete, move to the electrician's shop and complete siding repairs, trim installation, and caulking on the west and south walls of the electrician's shop. We plan to power-wash the building on Monday.
7. Level and straighten the north section shed, and tie the front and back portions together, with the goal of beginning the reinstallation of sheathing.

GROUND RULES
To take part you must be 18 and a member of the FEBT (or join the FEBT at the work site.) These are insurance requirements. We are guests of the railroad and need to behave accordingly.

Last-minute walk-ons are always welcome at our sessions, but if possible, drop an email to LeeRainey@aol.com in advance to let out coordinator, Lee Rainey, know that you are coming. It helps with the planning.

See you there!
