Am I missing something, or should Amtrak just drop showing Albuquerque-ElPaso bus service since the southbound bus departs about 15 mins. before westbound SW Limited arrives? The northbound connection isn't much good either. What's wrong here - this has gone on for years! Can't the bus schedule be adjusted a few minutes?
While I'm at it, the Flagstaff-Phoenix connections are nothing great, either.

Another example of a missed connection! I am beginning to suspect a vast anti-potential-revenue conspiracy. See my posts under the thread 'Viable Alternative US Rail Routes' (12/23/03).

In the most recent timetable, #3 at ABQ misses the Thruway to El Paso by 3 minutes! And to catch 3 or 4 coming up from El Paso you would be in the beautiful (lol) ABQ depot for 7-10 hours.

On the SWC schedule there is not much they can do for the Flag-PHX connection. But failing to provide a simple thruway connection to Phoenix from the Eagle/Sunset at Maricopa is a glaring example of missed opportunity. The mass escape from the midwest during the winter (as in non-peak / empty train) season is an ideal opportunity for Amtrak to fill some seats with with a minimal extra investment!
