I was wondering if anyone was aware of what the status of the Tunnel fire in Tunnel #3 (south of Chemult and north of Klamath Falls) was I know that people were saying it would be 6 mos. then I heard different...Anyone have a good report? I am planning a trip to Oregon this winter.

Thanks guys.

I just checked timekeeping into Salinas for the last few days. It's the best I've ever seen! 11 has arrived a few minutes early the last couple of days, and the worst was about 45 minutes late. 14 has been arriving within 45 minutes of its schedule at worst, and wihin ten minutes at best. I've never seen it do better than than 30 minutes late. This summer 90 minutes late was typical. If UP keeps this up, they might actually start making money off of Amtrak.

I also checked 14's times into Salem, which has also been pretty good, but not as stellar. The worst was 2:40 late, but today looks like it'll be on time.
