A Harris poll

I find it very interesting that expansion of long distance trains placed second, while airline expansion placed fourth. It blows away the myth that long distance train travel is only for the lunatic fringe. Evidently, we're mainstream.

I don't suppose the President or the Sec of Transportation took part in the survey.

Anyone who's taken a train in California in the last six or seven years has seen the impact of State participation in Amtrak service. And must recognize that none of it would exist without the existence of Amtrak's national system.

I suppose we could always forward the link to the Prez, and Normie! I have the feeling, though, that they would deep six it as it does not fit into the way they see things.
