Anyone on the Railforum taking the special Milwaukee Road 261 train this upcoming weekend? (It will run on CP/Amtrak tracks from MSP to MKE during the week, then go out to New Lisbon on the weekend and back to MSP)

Let me know if you are! I'd love to meet up if you're going the same day I am.

Spent a great day on a 261 train in July 2004 in and out of St. Paul. I wish I could be back for this one but the timing is not good this year.

If you have the means, I recommend you go first class in the super dome car. I enjoyed it when the NCDOT used it on our 'Piedmont' and was sorry to see it go. At least it's back on 'native track' though.

Yeah it should be a fun trip (never rode this one before!)... Friday I might sneak down to Sturtevant to catch a peak at it, and then I am looking forward to Saturday.

If there are any Trainweb folks going, I'd love to do a meet and greet. Just post and we can work something out.
