Article on the latest road block to the plans for enarting Pennsylvania Station in NYC.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/10172006/news/regionalnews/dolans_behind_bid_to_derail_station__state_regionalnews_tom_topousis.htm

For those outside of the NY area and who don't give a hoot about sports, The Dolans are the owners of the Cablevision Cable empire. the Son was given Madison Square Garden as a toy by his Dad. He has already run the NY Knick Basketball team into the ground he did the same to the Hockey NY Rangers but was saved by the NHL Strike.

A recent article in the NY Post did not mention Penn Station but the subject of the article is about the antiquated zonning laws in the area of West of Broadway around 34th street old Garment district. The zoning laws put in to protect areas sewing factories and telegraph offices are keeping developers from building in these areas. This explains why that whole area has always been a backwater in Manhattan. It was buisness and real estate development is what made one train depot thrive while the other failed.
