This week I am leaving for Amtrak Trip to LA on the Capital Limited and Southwest Chief. I have Ridden these before, but this will be my first time riding a sleeper on the Chief. I have gone Sleeper on both the Zephyr, Builder and Coast Starlight. While in LA I am going to be riding in a special car that was seen in The Latest Clint Eastwood movie.

I rode in a sleeper on a trip from Lamy to L.A. a couple of years ago. It was fun, but in December, so I didn't get to see much. Unfortunately, it's around dark when you leave Albuquerque. I much prefer the Southwest Chief during the summer so you can see the countryside well into Arizona.

I'm beginning to get the shakes, so I need to do that trip again soon.

The return on #4 will give you great scenery in eastern AZ and through NM, and the Missippi River crossing in mid-day two.
