Is there enough parking near the Poughkeepsie station, even at 5:00 in the afternoon on a Friday?

There is a fairly large parking garage at the Poughkeepsie train station, but the station is not only an Amtrak stop but also the terminus of the Metro North Hudson Line and does get a lot of commuters to NYC. At SIX o'clock there would likely be room to park, but five is a little early--most commuters would not be out yet.

I suggest you direct your question to Metro North:

They will likely know a lot more about it than Amtrak.
