This has probably been answered before but.... Is lunch served on #1 Sunset Ltd after departing New Orleans 11:55am?
I'm thinking it is better to go Atlanta-Austin with a night's layover in NOL than to try AUS to ATL where the possible delay into NOL might save a hotel bill but I'd just end up waiting in San Antonio, wouldn't I? Same price either way.

What I really want to know is: Is lunch served on #1 upon departure NOL?

Thanks

Yes, it is.

Uusually the first lunch call is made about 20-30 minutes after the train leaves the station.
