I will be taking the 421 to Maricopa in November. We arrive early in the morning. Does anyone know if there are taxicabs at the station when the train arrives? I need to get to Chandler.
Thanks for any helpful hints for this train. I have taken from CHI to Ft Worth many times but on to AZ.

There isn't much in Maricopa. I'd suggest contacting the station agent there by phone and asking what the cab situation is.

You might even need to go so far as to make advance arrangements with a cab operator to meet you at the station if possible.

chaslett,
I agree with notelvis. Calling the station is a good idea. I arrived a couple months ago at about 3:30AM and there were not any cabs. I had a friend pick me up while I waited at a gas/convenient store across the street.
A google search should give you a list of some of the cab companies, but Neil's cab, AAA Transportation, and Yellow Cab seem to be prevalent here in the Valley of the Sun.
Depending on what part of Chandler you are going to, it will only be about 15-20 miles from Maricopa.

Here is the direct # to the station:
(520) 568-2870

However, Amtrak stations are notorious for ignoring phone calls when they are busy.

I have a photo taken in 2003 of the Maricopa station. There is a sign visible that says "White's Shuttle Service 520-568-4404"
