"not at all uncommon for the Empire Builder to arrive two days late"? Wonder who dished out that piece of disinformation.

delvyrails --- "two days late"? --- another urban legend --- in the same class as all those empty trains going from nowhere to nowhere.

There have unfortunately been several stories over the past few years of trains that were many hours late and some irate passengers were more than happy to vent to the first camera and mike shoved in their face.

Those who do not ever take trains believe what they hear on the "if it bleeds it leads" tv news. Just a few recent stories -- 4 teens thrown off train in middle of night --- man thrown off train in middle of nowhere - the recent "Booze train" stories. None of these "stories" on further investigation turned out to be as portrayed on the evening news.

It is sad that there are those for whom this is their only view of Amtrak.
