A great addition; the "cube" that was built during 1967 was the result of a cash strapped railroad and a government agency coming together. Lest we forget, the MILW's former station dating back to the 1900's (and for which you will have to dig out your TRAINS collection to see a photo of as I cannot locate any on the web) was on the site of the Post Office and to the government it was a 'well we owe 'em a train station, but that is all we owe 'em". Commissioning an architect to design a structure that would enhancve "civic pride' was simply not in MILW's coffers.
