Travelling from San Diego to Chicago via LA (no stopover) on the Surfliner/SWF can I check my bag all the way through and not have to worry?

You probably know this already, but just in case.....you do NOT have any access to your checked bags during your trip. They are in a baggage car, and passengers do not have access to the baggage car AT ALL. So whatever you check in San Diego, make sure you don't need it until you get your bags again in Chicago.
