Does anyone know what's going on with #21? It's currently averaging 74 min late arrival at San Antonio even with 3 1/2 hrs padding from Austin. For many previous months it has been consistently an hour early due to such padding. It seems to loose a lot of time after Temple or even Taylor. Is there a specific issue?

Other than indifference from the Union Pacific I know of no other issue......

But not being in that part of the country I might be overly cynical.

Day before yesterday there was the dreaded 'service disruption' south of Fort Worth. Yesterday 21 arrived almost 6 hrs late into San Antonio - something happened between Cleburne and McGreggor. No explanations anywhere that I can find. As recently as January #21 was 100% on time!!!

It would appear that since the Service Disruption on the 29th of March, Amtrak has added in another hour of padding south of Fort Worth. This shows up in the status report as, e.g., 'arrived 10 minutes late' when in fact it arrived 70 minutes late according to the schedule. Now, e.g., it says #21 is due in Austin at 7:30 when the schedule says 6:30. Do they do this sort of thing before? And the train STILL arrives late some nights, losing time between Taylor and Austin (40 minutes apart) and Austin and San Marcos (1 hr apart). I plan to be taking that train several times in the next couple of months so I have been watching it closely.
