Mr. Kisor, you are always first at "mining" such material; guess today I beat you to it [Eek!]

Watch the video: "If you've seen one Pine Tree, you've seen 'em all'

Finally, I note from the video that a 330XX Sightseer seems to have found its way into the consist. Hope that is simply a substitute while a regular 3310X is being shopped. If the 330XX is a permanent assignment, allow to be on record as "what a waste'.

Very interesting, GBN. I was surprised that Amtrak says they are considering Chicago to Arizona or Texas routes - but no mention of Colorado.

With our frequent AZ visits, I'd certainly vote for that one. Rather than the TE/Sunset route, I would think the BNSF then ATSF Peavine route (Williams-Phoenix) would be very scenic and less freight interference. With Auto Trains slower speeds, it should fit right into a slot between Intermodals on BNSF southern route to Williams - can't see 50 car passenger train over Raton.

Sorry it didn't work out for our AutoTrain excursion this year, but 'wait 'til next year'.

From Marriott Courtyard, Roswell GA--

If this discussion is to develop into a "where can there be more AT routes", lest we forget that the government is not into entreprenurship nor should it be.

However, I do hold that if there are to be other routes, they should be:

Galesburg-Irondale
Galesburg-La Junta
Albuquerque-San Bernardino

This of course would simply be adding an auto rack or two to the consist of the Chief or Zephyr with the "Auto Train Service" passengers simply accommodated in line space.
