I'm looking for one good spot to watch the Silver Meteor head north. Thanks

Well, it's hard to beat the station in N. Charleston if you want to check out the Meteor. Just south of the station is the mainline switch for the Andrews Sub. Quite a bit of activity there for the through freights to Andrews and on to Hamlet as well as local activity to the paper mill.

But, here is a link to a much more detailed review of what to expect in the area. The crossing of CSX mainline and the NS extension from its 7 mile yard is certainly a good spot. But, you probably wouldn't see much of the Meteor due to darkness this time of year.

Thanks so much Palmland. I read this on a different computer so I couldn't respond, but it worked for me, and I saw the Meteor, and I spent times in the yards, I couldn't find the Ports Authority locomotives. But thank you.
