I've been playing around with ways to reward myself after my hip surgery next month.

One scenario is doing Radiance of the Seas San Diego to Vancouver. I would then take the train from Vancouver to Seattle and spend the night since there is not a train connection to the Starlight. From there I would take the Starlight home to SBA using points.

My question is this -- Can I "break" the trip in, say, Klamath Falls? Or would I need to do two rewards to get home?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Frank,

I'm pretty sure that you would need two rewards to break a rewards trip in Klamath Falls.

Your only chance to do it with a single reward would be if your intinerary requires an overnight layover...... such as from the Crescent to Sunset in New Orleans or....possibly in Seattle since you have to stay overnight to get the Coast Starlight if you start in Vancouver.

Even with this, I'd talk to someone live at AGR to confirm before you make steadfast plans.

Thanks, David. I suspect that on the Vancouver-Seattle-SBA itinerary they would tell me that I would have to take the very early bus that DOES connect to the Starlight in Seattle.
