I would like to share a pleasant Amtrak experience with everyone. I have just completed a round trip from St. Louis to Dallas on the Texas Eagle. My St louis to Dallas portion of the trip was OK. My return was one of the best train rides that I have enjoyed. I am an occasional Amtrak rider (10 trips over 10 years). My wife and I booked two roomettes. We find having a roomette to oneself is far more comfortable than sharing the limited space. The train was punctual, arriving at Dallas on-time and in St. Louis on-time the next morning. The sleeper car attendant, Toni, was perhaps the best attendant that I have ever encountered. After Toni settled us in with much humor, care, and efficiency I had the pleasure of meeting the dining car steward, Chris. Toni and Chris are cut from the same cloth. Chris made the dinner and breakfast experience one that was special. There is an old adage in the restaurant business,"customers will forgive bad food but not bad service". The food good along with the service which was excellent. Amtrak should video these gentlemen and use them in training presentations. I swear, if the great majority of the Amtrak staff had the competence of these two the ridership would increase significantly. I have had experience in the hospitality industry and Toni and Chris epitomize the qualities that a paying customer should be able to expect when purchasing a service. I don't want my commentary to appear too effusive but they made me want to take a trip again soon. Now, I am a realist and I know that, sadly, Toni and Chris and punctual train performance are not going to happen everytime. But a well done performance deserves acknowledgement. Salutations to Toni, Chris and the Eagle.

Sounds like "more positives than negatives" to say the least. I hope you notified Amtrak Customer Service of the fine job that those two employees did.

If you are referring to Toni Westfield and Chris Tuan, I totally agree. They are both outstanding Amtrak employees.
