It's been awhile since I've posted anything here, but I happened to run across the pocket notebook I used during our train trip around the country back in the summer of 2000. Reading through it was fun and there were only a few notes I couldn't decipher or I couldn't remember what they referenced. I posted the typed version, with some additional notes up on Google docs so I think you can get to it with this link even without a Gmail account:

The trip took us 3 weeks which included some 'down time' in New England and Washington, DC, which was all planned. Along the route we left passengers and crew behind, hit a car, visited Disneyland, had the cops haul someone off the train and had to break into one of our own bedrooms.
