My friend "Canaveral" is aboard 97(13) tonight and is not a happy camper. First off, the train left NYP over an hour and a half late as the diner had to be switched out at Sunnyside Yard due to cooling and refrigeration issues. At least he was able to wait in the Club Acela but on top of a scheduled layover of almost 3 hours, this was a bit much. Then he discovered that an Amfleet II lounge had been subbed in for the diner making service very slow as meals could only be heated in the two microwaves. Dinner took over an hour on top of being late. Add to this the unpleasant arrangement of sitting above the wheels at the end of the car and having no window by his table and he was not pleased. His sleeper was not very cool at the bedroom end, a common malady for Viewliners. I'm sure a first hand report will be forthcoming.

"Late trains stay late" as 97(13) , as of a few moments ago, is reported to arrive Savannah 1h 30m late.

CSX will earn their performance payment for this run, as 97(13) was delivered to them at Wash 1h 44m late.
