You can't get there by Amtrak, but Amtrak lovers will not mind. You could take Amtrak to Milwaukee and then drive north to Laona, about four hours. (There. I've mentioned Amtrak three times and that suffices for inclusion in this forum.)

Looks like a nice ride. I like the fact that it takes you to a real destination before returning. Many similar operations just go to end of track and then just shuffles back.

I rode that Lumberjack Steam Train a few years before the NRHS Convention in Duluth.
