The Michigan Association of Railroad Passengers(MARP) is seeking new members. Our voluntary association is involved in supporting interstate passenger rail (Amtrak), commuter rail, light rail and connectivity with buses. Our activities encompass outreach programs at local universities, train shows, local street fairs etc.which inform the public about train service using timetables/train amenity brochures supplied by Amtrak. Some members keep the local Amtrak station stocked with current timetable information and serve as voluntary station attendants at un-staffed stations. Others educate the state legislature on the need for increased passenger rail routes and frequencies. Still others sit on citizen advisory boards for local transit authorities. We have volunteers who work on publishing a monthly newsletter. If you are interested in any or all of these activites please fill out a membership form by going to www.marp.org and clicking on Join MASRP Today. Applicants should bring the following to our monthly meetings which arre held all over the state:
1. A desire to improve passenger railroading

2. A willigness to support the organization by paying a $25.00 yearly dues

3. An ability to donate some of their time supporting the activites of MSRP.
