20 years ago, the westbound Amtrak Sunset Limited derailed in the Arizona desert. They believe it was sabotaged:

I remember the pronouncement of how the pool of suspects was limited to those that had technical knowledge of how railroad signals worked, thereby simplifying the investigation.

Really? How many hundreds of thousands of people if not millions know that rail continuity was necessary to have a green signal and that if you can get the rail ends out of line with each other whatever happens to be the first train across it will derail.

Just seemed to be a silly statement from people that wanted to look like they had discovered some point that reduced the pool of suspects to a managably small number.

Makes me thing of the Oklahoma City bombing where the pronounced the list of suspects was limited to those that had access to Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer in quantiy and diesel fuel in quantity, and thought the government had grossly mishandled the Waco compound situation.

Again, oh wow! This gets it down to the majority of the rural population in the USA. Hint, if you work in agriculture you most certaintly have access to diesel fuel and fertilizer in just about any quantity needed to set off an explosion, and most of the adult population of the US considered the handling of the Waco compound situation on the order of a Keystone Kops farce.

The Waco compound: Let's see here, we have a nutcase preacher out here preaching that the government is out to get us, and what does the government do about it? They go out and get them.
