I see Amtrak's website homepage has changed:

www.amtrak.com

A different look. I noticed that you can now register and log in, once you register. I guess that would help expedite train reservations? I'm thinking that the old site might be preferable. Now, how do you go about ordering an Amtrak national timetable from this new site?

Easy Enough:

OK, thanks, Mr. Norman. I went ahead and ordered a timetable. It's a smoother process compared to the last time I tried, with all those wavy letters to try and replicate. Also, unlike last time, it did acknowledge my order.

I also ordered an Empire Builder magazine. Is that something new? Don't remember that it was available, previously.

Amazingly, I've found Amtrak's website intuitive and easy to use. Better than say, Southwest Airlines. In fact I have friend who is no fan of Amtrak but I got an unsolicited comment that he liked their mobile version when booking a recent trip.

Maybe the IT guys should go into operations. I suspect Amtrak's scarce dollars could have better spent than this update.
