All--

So far there doesn't appear to have been any interruption of train service through the fire area. Highway 101 has been closed at least twice but that has been at night when there would not be Amtrak service going through the Gaviota area.

Does anyone know otherwise? This is going to be a tough one to knock down. The area has not burned in more than 50 years. The local Native Americans (Chumash) had the right idea. Set the whole place on fire and spend a month or two on the Islands.

Frank, any update on this? We have friends who will be on CS Thursday from SBA to Seattle.

It's now 70% contained and there shouldn't be any problem except possibly smoke. 101 is open and if it's open, the tracks are fine.

Thanks, Frank. Our friends are meeting us later this week. They're taking the CS and connect to the EB. We're taking the EB out of Seattle and will meet in the diner at Whitefish next am.
