What a World Series! Great games, and a great outcome (IMHO).

But as I watched each game, thoughts of the late Houston, Republic of Texas, citizen Mike Smith kept jumping to mind.

For those new around here, Mike was an active participant on this forum until his passing in 2016. He was one of my favorites, and certainly one of the forum members I regret never having the chance to meet in person.

When the train whistle blew in Houston when the Stros scored, I thought of Mike. He explained on this forum the rail connection with Minute Maid Park. It was built on the Houston Union Station/rail yard real estate.

Mike Smith was in my thoughts during the World Series. Any chance he had something to do with the outcome? Rhetorical question I suppose, but what's a certain fact is I miss Mike hanging around this forum.
