Hopefully this will capture thoughts of those who are taking the train for cruises and ferry trips.

One ferry I would like to take is the Alaska Marine Highway ferry from Bellingham, WA to Juneau and beyond. On a trip on the Cascades Vancouver service it appeared to be just a short walk from the train station. Our only experience with the Alaska ferry was from Juneau to Skagway (and the White Pass and Yukon RR). Much more interesting to us than a cruise ship as everyone was working to handle the cargo, vehicles, and passengers. The service was good (on their flagship Columbia) and they had interesting NP lectures on the area.
