Our local utility just raised our rates, saying thatthe railroad raised the shipping 100%. Does anyone know if this true? Or where can I find out about this? Thank You. Trainut

Are you certain that a 100% raise was mentioned???

The railroads have adjusted their rates to reflect their increased fuel costs, but 100% would gain national headlines and I have not seen any mention of it.

Hi RRCHINA,
The electric company's news letter said that the railroad has raised there shipping coast of coal 100%. That is why they have had to eaise electric rates.

Hello Trainut and thanks for the response.

This seems like a misprint, unless the 100% is over a long period of time, not a one time raise.

It should get significant attention from the media if it was. Has there been any follow up from the electric company, or has the local news media taken this up as I would expect? Is there more to this story?

Thanks again.

There has to be more to this.
