This afternoon, the Cochrane-Toronto Northlander of the ONR derailed in the Don Valley, just a few miles from its destination. The media report that the locomotive and four passenger cars were derailed, but all remained upright. From the video shown, there are actually three passenger cars.
There is a "B" unit being used for HEP behind the locomotive. Early reports said there were no injuries; it now appears there were a few minor injuries. GO Transit trains on the Richmond Hill line use this part of the Bala sub. The trains are being re-routed, presumably via the Newmarket and York subs.
