Hello,
I am going to Sutter Creek on HIghway 49, I want to go on Amtrak even though it seems impossible--then I would rent a car somewhere. I tried look ing up the zipcode of the city: 95685
But there are no stations within AMTRAK's online "fidn a station" I m going gold panning this winter break and sutter creek semmed cool, but maybe there are other places--But ut sure would be more fun to take AMTRAK
than to DRIVE

Sutter Creek is about a 45 minutes from Sacramento. Colfax might be another place to get off the train, but I'm not sure you could rent a car there. Stockton and Modesto are other places that are fairly close to Sutter Creek.

Agree Sacramento would be best if you want a convenient renyal car. Auburn, up towards Colfax, might work...
