Do you remember when the last train pulled by steam was? When I was a kid in Brooklyn, New York I used to hear steam locos pulling passenger AND freight trains on the tracks of the Long Island R. R. less than a mile from my house in the East New York section of Brooklyn. That beautiful chugging and hissing was music to my ears early in the mornings!

One of my best friends father was an engineer on the LIRR steam locos on the runs
to Hemstead, Long Island.
