Today's southbound Surfliner had a bunch of Del Mar race fans on board. Train was standing room only for a while. I got to stand by one of the doors from Anaheim to Solana Beach...some people at Irvine and San Juan Capistrano could not even get on due to crowding. They had to wait 90 minutes for the next train...

Well..Im in Italy and there are 3 one side by 3 the other side seating, and a tiny aisle with fold down seats..I suppose they do this to save 1 seat or somthing..>Surfliners are great

There were people standing in the aisles and the vestibules, both upstairs and downstairs. Some had luggage; others had coolers they could use as seats.

A few people were even sitting on the steps.

Conductor quit coming through; they just had a couple of them waiting at Solana Beach to collect the tickets.

Too bad passenger rail isn't a viable transportation alternative.
