I feel stupid for not knowing this info, as I've lived in SoCal for 24 years. But I have a few questions about the Anaheim Station.

I'll be taking the San Diegan, oops Surfliner, from Anaheim to San Diego a week from today (Feb 2). A friend who is traveling with me is picking me up from school in Orange and we’ll then head to the station. He needs to know what the parking situation is. Cost? Availability of spaces? Etc...

I get out of class at 7:50 (PM) so the intended train is 792 (8:41 at Anaheim).

I told him plenty of spaces should be available given the late night departure and most Metrolink commuters will be long home by that time. BTW, is Anaheim even a big commuter stop? But I was not sure on any parking fees.

I know when you park at Fullerton (structure) for say the Southwest Chief, you get a parking voucher. At Anaheim will we have to pay for parking? We'll be down in San Diego until the 4th so the car will be there overnight.

So really the big question is parking. Everything else I believe I'm familiar with. But if anyone has any tips on the Anaheim station let me know. Been a very long time since I've used Anaheim station (think last time was 1986 or so with my boy scout troop). I usually go to Fullerton, but Anaheim works better for my school location and schedule.

Should be nice to see the semi modern looking Anaheim station again. Always reminded me of the Walthers Amtrak station model.

Oh and I hope you all track my train like we did for Montana Jim..sure bet the Surfliner will be as much fun to track as the Coast Starlight and Zephyr….. [Big Grin] [Roll Eyes] [Razz]

I got off at Anaheim once, and it looked to be free parking, but I could be wrong.

I would give them a call..

Anaheim is always free as long as you show your Amtrak tickets during events at the staduim. They don't need to be current for the trip.

According to the Metrolink web site, there are approximately 400 parking spaces at the Anaheim AMTRAK/Metrolink station -- web site does not say if there is a parking fee, however.

BTW, is the Anaheim station parking in the stadium parking lot?

Thanks for the info.

I thought the train parking was separate from the stadium parking. I remember you used to have to drive through a special barricade section...but again this was back in the mid 80's, haven't been there since.
