i would like to know if any member knows why the Michigan Wolverine Service trains continually run late at a time when many of the long distance trains arrive on time. The route from Pontiac to Chicago is run on CN, NS and Amtrak tracks for a distance of only 304 miles. Freight traffic on much of the route is infrequent or non-existant In past experiences, I have seen poor dispatching practices on the part of the Dearborn NS dispatcher lead to unnecessary delays. Of late, the trains arrive at Amtrak trackage having traversed NS out of Chicago, who deliverd the train on time to Amtrak owned rails at Porter. The trains then seem to lose time. Going into to Chicago the situation doesn't seem to be any better. The track from Porter to Kalamazoo is suposed to be 95 mile an hour track. CN is not delaying the trains at Battle Creek. Any one have any ideas?

I don't know.....perhaps the dispatching in that area only knows how to deal with those trains when they are late.
