Can anyone give me a rough idea of the maintenance schedule that long distance Amtrak cars and engines go through? Something along the lines of:
- Basic cleaning/turnaround time, can be done at or near the terminal, every trip, 4 hours required
- Light maintenance, maintenance facility required, every 10,000 miles, 24 hours required
- Heavy overhaul, Delaware or Beech Grove only, every 100,000 miles, 72 hours required
The above are only examples and probably wildly inaccurate.

If it's only an educated guess then that's not a problem. It's just for a bit of fun with schedule planning.

Thanks.
