I'll be heading east on the Southwest Chief tonight.

Fullerton, California - Lamy, New Mexico

It's been about a year since I last traveled on the Chief.

Got a roomette (#11). Yeah I know it's downstairs which isn't my favorite but this train is booked so at least I have a room.

Traveling with my sister and we'll meet our parents at Lamy. Then we drive to our place in southwest Colorado.

Colorado is awfully nice right now. I just got home a few days ago from 3 nights in Alamosa!

Climbing toward 5,000 posts like the Southwest Chief ascending Raton Pass. Cautiously, not nearly as fast as in the old days, and hoping to avoid premature reroutes.
