I am a reporter at the Boston Globe and I'm interested in speaking with railfans and long-distance train riders to get their views on the future of long-distance train travel in the US, particular from a tourist/traveler perspective, as opposed to commuter, etc.
If you'd be interested in speaking by phone, please email (thaines@globe.com) a phone number and good time to reach you. Thanks in advance.

I have responded to Tom by e-mail, but I am wondering if anyone is familiar with his work. Is he fair minded or just looking for an Amtrak-bashing angle?

I have lived in Boston all my life (67yrs) and am not a Bos. Globe fan but I think to be fair thats a political view. I wonder if Tom could give a sample of what he is looking for by posting a few questions here. I think we would have an idea of where he is going with this. Sound fair? Jack M
