I thought taking a train up to Auburn (in the Sierra foothills) and having lunch and returning would be a great fall train trip. Unfortuantely I can't get to Martinez from Modesto in time to catch either the Capital Corridor or Calif. Zephyr. So I have to drive to MTZ, or do another San Joaquin to Bakersfield and back. Not sure what I'll pick, but either way I'll get the double points.

Hmmmm....I'd almost go with driving to MTZ to catch the Cap or Zephyr. Down and back to BFD can get pretty borrrrring. [Smile]
