I'm planning a trip with my daughter for Oct 3rd on the Coast Starlight. We're really looking forward to it. It's my third 4th Amtrak trip ever, and the first one in ten years. My daughter has never been.

Anyway, I noticed that we are supposed to arrive in L.A. around 9:05 PM, then get on 794 around 10:10 PM, bound for Anaheim, our destination (yay Disneyland!!!).

What happens if the Coast Starlight is a couple of hours late getting into L.A.? Does the 794 wait for it, considering it's part of the "Coast Starlight" trip? Do they have more than one train going to Anaheim? Or would we have to be bussed?

Thanks in advance...

They will wait some, but not long, no 2 hrs. They will bus you there if it's too late.

The Pacific Surfliner waited for us a half hour, but on my last trip (doesn't happen EVERY time), they didn't wait 5 minutes for us. We got bused, but the ride ain't that bad when you're going 75 down the highway, heh heh.

Expect a very rough ride till you get south of San Luis Obisbo. The tracks down the Salinas Valley are really bad. Once south of there it is OK. Good luck and have a great trip.
